SharePoint based CRM
Microstaff IT’s SharePoint based CRM tool adheres to the classic Accounts/Opportunities/Contacts
model that anyone familiar with CRM systems will recognize instantly.
Our goal was to build a straightforward CRM application leveraging SharePoint’s
strengths. We have always felt most CRM applications are more complicated than they
need to be, and more complicated than most sales people will put up with!
This system seemlessly links Accounts, Opportunities, and Contacts, allows for tracking
of activity with prospects and customers and organized storage of customer documents
such as proposals, contracts, etc.

We have created all of the standard views you would expect to see in a CRM system
(forecasts, activity, etc.) and SharePoint makes it easy for you to add to these
views or customize for your individual needs.
Wherever possible, we have embedded simple javascript to autopopulate fields in
related lists.

The entire system was created in SharePoint Designer so it can be packed up as an
STP and installed quickly on any WSS or MOSS system. With minor tweaks it can also
be installed on hosted SharePoint systems such as SharePointHosting.com and Microsoft Live.
There are some fields that you will likely want to customize for your individual
company’s circumstances, but the process is very straight forward and we can do
that or instruct you how.
You can also leverage SharePoint’s built in features like Alerts to have an email
delivered to you daily indicating changes to all open opportunities or new activities,
and you can link contacts and tasks to Outlook.

We have SharePoint surrounded. Our team has worked with SharePoint since the earliest
releases. We have written a significant percentage of the SharePoint courses
delivered to the Microsoft Partner channel over the years. If you are a Microsoft
partner, you have probably been in a class written by us and maybe even delivered
by one of our instructors. Our staff have delivered these classes across North America,
in Europe, China, and to students around the world via live instructor led webcasts
on behalf of Microsoft.
We offer our SharePoint based CRM solution as a bundled offering with customization
services (anywhere from a little to a lot) to end-user clients, or as a raw .STP
file to consultants and partners.
We are very open to partnership opportunities with consultants and Microsoft Partners
just beginning to delve into SharePoint, as well as seasoned SharePoint experts
who are looking for a “packaged service” that they can quickly deploy to add value
to a SharePoint system. Customizations such as the altered color scheme in the example
to the right are simple and easy to accomplish.

Auto-populate scripts save time for users. In this example, a new contact will be
created under the account called "_delete" (programmer name for a customer).
|
|
|
|
To the right, you can see that when a new Contact is created, the Account Name, Account
Address fields and Main Account phone number will automatically populate down into
the new contact.
This can be a big time saver for users, and while it is not a terribly big deal
in a custom application, it is pretty slick in a SharePoint environment. Auto-populate
scripts have been used wherever possible to enhance the user experience.
